The fair is primarily a place for food producers from Veszprém county and city to present their goods but visitors may also get information on a selection of crafts and tools in an entertaining and interactive way. The Expo will naturally include introduction sessions for top traditional national values and Hungaricums. The theme of 2020 is mushrooms. Audiences may try the tastes characteristic of the region, learn about high-quality recipes, tips and tricks for the kitchen, and taste delicacies on site; cultural and children’s programmes  will include a visit to Grandma’s old house. A major aim of the event is to nurture and pass on the Bakony region’s cultural heritage through a colourful variety of programmes; visitors will be entertained by folk dance shows and folk music concerts. The programmes are targeted at all age groups; they are designed to present and bring closer the unique gastronomy and cultural traditions of the region, not only to locals but to all those interested. This year is going to be quite special, as many events have been cancelled or postponed due to the virus situation. Organisers of Bakony Expo stand ready to make this event happen, naturally, with strict observation of health regulations.
