Festival of Dance 2021
For 23 years now, since 1998, it has been a national competitive meeting point, the first of its kind, for contemporary dance in Veszprém.
From the beginning, it has attracted the related arts, thus emphasising the interconnectedness and shared responsibilities of art branches (music, photography, cinematography and lighting techniques) and bringing international dance groups to the spotlight. The organiser Pannon Showplace Theatre and its partners would like to prepare youth, pensioners, NGOs, people with disabilities and underprivileged persons with workshop series for the contemporary codes at first online, then in real life. This new marketing and communication strategy for arts contributes to the increase of visitors, especially in younger age groups, which could help the festival to become a main tourist attraction.
In 2021 under the Sports and Dance Day, next to dance groups for circus arts, acrobatic sports theatre and others, the dance companies of the region will also parade in Veszprém Aréna.
Our qualified event in terms of conventions and recommendations is internationally accepted, which is guaranteed by the fact that the DANCE – Contemporary Festival is one of the core partners of the ECoC Veszprém-Balaton 2023 project.
A central aim of our festival is fostering international connections.
