Alíz Markovits was previously active in the competitive sector in the fields of finance and foreign trade; later, she held management and expert positions in several Hungarian and international projects. As Head of Development at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Kőszeg, she gained experience in planning, implementing and monitoring regional development projects. Her main task was to put into practice the KRAFT concept developed at the Institute: Creative City - Sustainable Countryside using the example of Kőszeg town. An honorary associate professor at the University of Pannonia, since February 2020 she has been in charge of the coordination of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme as CEO, responsible for the preparation of the 116 municipalities of the Bakony-Balaton region for the programme year, the implementation of the cultural programme and the related infrastructure investments
