CODE – Centre of Digital Experience

CODE – short for Centre of Digital Experience - is a facility to present ever-changing and immersive digital content in what was once the Veszprém County Cultural Centre. 

Shows creating an immersive experience that fully surrounds the viewer with high-end projected visuals and audio have become the most popular attractions in many European and overseas countries in Asia, Japan, and the Middle East. In 2023, Veszprém will adjoin to this group. 

Once the reconstruction is complete, visitors will be welcomed by various experience areas. The Exhibition Area on the ground floor will house permanent and temporary digital and analogue installations. The Hexagon, a former 400-square metre theatre on the floor above, will be used mainly as the venue for 360-degree immersive performances. The Hexagon will also be a setting for hosting hybrid events and staging, among others, theatre and music productions. The former stage and behind-the-scenes area will be converted into a 60-square metre Studio, suitable for 180-degree interactive and three-dimensional shows and screenings for 25 to 30 visitors per occasion.

Admittedly, CODE aims to create a modern cultural tourist attraction based on state-of-the-art technologies that will keep Veszprém, with this unique new attraction, on the horizon of visitors' interest in 2023 and beyond.

The way to attain this aim is to constantly offer new temporary exhibitions and show the works of the most significant international and Hungarian visual artists and photographers in their form-language. Also, to create radical new educational opportunities and popularise science in exciting, interactive 3D and VR experiences for children.
