A tribute to Ukrainian culture.

A series of concerts at ten venues will feature the traditional Ukrainian and Hungarian musical culture throughout 2023. The Veszprém Ukrainian Nationality Self-Government aims to demonstrate the unique and common features of the two neighbouring countries’ musical cultures, to pay tribute to their traditions and find ways to further cultural cooperation between the two peoples in the long term.

Each occasion will also devote proper attention to the youngest age groups. Children will have the opportunity to handle folk instruments and get acquainted with Ukrainian and Hungarian songs. For adults, there will be a chance to learn Ukrainian and Hungarian folk songs from a vocal coach and to see traditional Ukrainian clothes and folk costumes.

The concerts will feature Ukrainian performers active in Hungary, such as Artisjus and Pro Cultura Minoritatum Hungariae award-winning guitarist Ferenc Bernáth, guitar player Mykhailo Vihula and the singer Victoria Kolosova, who is active in promoting Ukrainian music culture in Hungary, violinist Ulyana Zan, cellist András Zan, pianists Erzsébet Nincz and Lyubomir Borsch and the Carpathian Colours group.
