Indian Summer Festival
When summer seems to come to an end… is the time when Indian Summer begins The Indian Summer Festival is a three-day end-of-summer event for 18-35-year-olds that is all about fun, frolic, new friendships and an unforgettable community experience.
During the day, there will be battles of words, discussions and community-building activities, followed in the evenings by dances, musical and dance performances, campfire sing-alongs, beer- and wine-tasting, educational food tours, community sports and crafts... plus much more to make the three days of togetherness a memorable experience. There will be a Brain Bar event, stage performances by the Janusz Theatre and the Momentán Társulat (‘At-the-moment Company’) and informal discussions with business leaders, theatre directors and each other.
The performances and discussions will cover family relations, relationship issues, family-friendly approaches to business, balancing work vs. life in university life – all, of course, in the context of young people's tastes and interests.
The tried-and-tested format, the Word Boxing series was designed by the main organiser, Három Királyfi, Három Királylány Alapítvány (Three Princes, Three Princesses Foundation), for people in their 20’s. It is a platform to explore popular but divisive topics that interest many. Two well-known personalities present the pros and cons of a given subject and discuss them with each other and the audience. The aim is not to try to convince the other side but to bring different points of view into the open and promote a culture of constructive debate. The series was born out of the recognition that prefabricated and ready-to-consume positions prevail in public discourse and social media. They offer little or no chance for reflection, for contemplating more complex issues or forming one's own opinion. Word Boxing is an opportunity for open debate, where views may be exchanged under conditions overseen by moderators.
