On the initiative of Gyula Porga, the Mayor of Veszprém, several workshops took place with the participation of the local governments and professionals of the related settlements to discuss opportunities offered by the ECoC programme. The participants, jointly with the representatives of Veszprém Municipality and Hétfa Research Institute, evaluated the submitted project proposals and discussed the possible outcomes. During June and July, meetings were arranged in Balatonfüred, Ajka, Alsóörs, and also in Keszthely.
