As part of the European Cultural Foundation’s Tandem project three applicants were selected to attend the second meeting in Leeuwarden with ECOC experts. The aim of the Tandem project was for the participants to learn through experience how to organize international cultural projects.

In November I spent several days in Leeuwarden, the capital city of Friesland in the Netherlands.  I arrived with Viktória Szántó (Kabóca Puppet Theatre),  Mónika Jelinkó (VEB2023) and Tamás Buvári (SzeretFilm) to the Tandem program, where we were greeted by a team already familiar to us from the previous meeting in Rijeka. The time was well spent; we further elaborated our own projects, we participated in a workshop on international funding opportunities, and we also went on a tour around Friesland.

Tandem is a dynamic network; many new ideas and new connections emerged from within the group. The Laczkó Dezső Museum is now involved in two other projects besides its official Tandem partnership with VHDG in the Netherlands. One of these projects explores how young people relate to their cultural landscape, while one of the aims of the other project is to organise an international conference on Awareness of the Cultural Landscape in Veszprém.

Tandem is a forge of creative collaborations. We returned home full of new ideas and fresh enthusiasm about our future European projects.
