TANDEM REPORT/ second round: SzeretFilm Stúdió

As part of the European Cultural Foundation’s Tandem project three applicants were selected to attend the second meeting in Leeuwarden with ECOC experts. The aim of the Tandem project was for the participants to learn through experience how to organize international cultural projects.

In the programme I met a number of open people and cultural experts, we developed close relations with several European organizations and representatives. Finally I made a professional visit to the Kaunas National Drama Theatre in Kaunas, the Lithuanian capital of culture in 2022. We started the development of two projects with the theatre, and we have already submitted both projects to the Open Tender for Kaunas 2022. The ‘Voda Víz Vandou’ project would be carried out in the co-production of three ECoC cities – Rijeka, Kaunas, Veszprém – during the upcoming three years. The programme draws attention to the environment in honor of water as an element of life, by creating an art performance. In addition to professional artists, we want to involve local communities – most disadvantaged ones – and doing the rehearsals and present the performance in all three locations.

The other project is an English-language theatrical performance, a theatrical adaptation of Tarkovsky’s movie, Stalker. The project is planned to be presented with actors from Veszprém and Kaunas, in different castings, in both cities, thereby promoting the use of English – emphasizing the youth at universities and secondary schools. I am pleased and grateful to say that the program, which was rich in face meetings, has had many positive personaland spiritual effects. Participation in the ECOC’s international Tandem programme has strengthened our studio in the belief that it is working in a European quality. And also that it will continue to proudly undertake and achieve its projects, creating colourful and original cultural value for the community of the region.
