Every May, the largest multidisciplinary arts festival in the City of Queens fills the streets of the castle quarter and the city centre with a colourful cavalcade of free music, art, theatre, literature and family events.

The multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Balázs Szabó founded Szabó Balázs Bandája in 2009, which has grown into one of Hungary's most popular bands in recent years, and has achieved this by drawing on the chanson world of Hungarian folk music, with pop, rock, funk and chamber music elements, and creating a completely unique, boundary-breaking and genre-building sound.

The band, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, has a long tradition of setting poetry to music, and in addition to their own compositions, they have dedicated a record to songs from the poems of János Pilinszky and Miklós Radnóti, but they have also set to music other poets (Krisztián Grecsó, Ferenc Szemlér, György Faludy). In their career so far, they have released six studio albums, an unconventional compilation album, a live album and a concert film, and their 2014 album Élet elvitelre (Life to Go), won the Fonogram Award for "Alternative Album of the Year".

To make the anniversary even more memorable, the band will be celebrating the anniversary year with lots of concerts and the release of a new album in late autumn.
