International Competition for Ballet Students - a First in Hungary.

In 2023The Ballet Grand Prix Veszprém will be held for the first time. It will be a classical and contemporary dance competition for ballet students organised hoping to start a tradition that will permanently elevate the region and the city onto the international dance scene. The 5-day event will include master classes and studios with renowned ballet masters and will conclude with a grand public gala.

An eight-member international jury will guarantee the prestige of the competition. Contestants between the age of 5 and 20 will compete in professional and amateur categories and three rounds of classical and modern ballet. An International Ballet Club will be established to ensure the long-term sustainability of the competition by mobilising support from patrons and dancers.

Bringing the first Hungarian Ballet Grand Prix to Veszprém is not happening by coincidence. A ballet school, in operation for almost a decade and run by Viktoria Podolskaya, has already produced many renowned artists. The competition and special technical events will allow students to gain better insight into the world of international ballet and inspire and encourage them in their work in the future.
