The VeszprémFolk 2023 programme and its presentations are aimed at a public interested in present-day folk art, Hungarian folk dance, and folkloric world-music. The three-day event is closely linked to the traditional celebration of St. Michael's Day, and it also brings forth the riches of Veszprém's regional communities, their traditions, and the diversity of purely sourced world-music and presented by the country's finest performers.

The opening programme will be the Folklokál Meeting, including a gala performance of folk-dance ensembles from the Bakony-Balaton region. The meeting will take place as an open-air event in the Veszprém Castle courtyard and will be closely linked to thematic performances by the country's most important professional and amateur folk dance ensembles.

With interactive children's programmes, educational children's performances, underground folk music, dance, and a series of folk music concerts, VeszprémFolk, gaining an international reputation, will welcome all world-music lovers. The planned venue is the Szent Háromság (Holy Trinity) Square and the Castle’s inner courtyards.

The closing day, St. Michael's Day, will be a day of pure traditionalism involving the country's most prominent communities, including members of the Muharay Elemér Folk Art Association and groups from the Heritage Children's Folk Art Association.
