ConneXion / MusiColours / 05.29.

ConneXion band consists of 35 musicians. In fact, we are talking about a big band that includes a string quartet, vocals, and various percussion instruments. It is a project group that connects different instruments and musical styles, ranging from world music to classical and pop music.

Two pieces of our programme were specifically written by Ivo Weijmans for the European Youth Music Festival, based on melodies by Béla Bartók (Hungarian Peasant Songs). We combine these originally composed pieces for ConneXion with arrangements of pop songs such as "All of Me" by John Legend and "Locked Out of Heaven" by Bruno Mars. Matthias Wilkens has orchestrated these songs for ConneXion.
