Listen to an Italian symphony orchestra, a Swiss quartet on the next stage, and then on to the brass band from Veszprém or a rock band from Kisvárda! Be there when the stars of the future of classical and popular music are discovered!

Fazekas Children's Choir of Miskolc began its work in 1963 at Fazekas Street Primary School, which was just opening at that time. Its members were senior pupils of the school.

The repertoire of the children's choir ranges from Gregorian chant to works by contemporary composers.

Over the past 60 years, the choir has achieved outstanding results in numerous national and international competitions under the artistic direction of János Reményi, Liszt Prize winner, and Mária Ujvári Halmainé (Budapest, Debrecen, Varna, Arezzo, Tolosa, Neerpelt, Llangollen, Cantonigros, Celje, Grado, Olomouc, and the Choir Olympics in Linz, Bremen and Graz).

In 2007, Fazekas Children's Choir was invited to Japan, where it represented Hungary at an international youth choir festival.

The choir's conductor since 2008 is Ildikó Molnár Balásné, who was awarded the Reményi Ede Music Prize by the Municipality of Miskolc in 2002, and in 2012 she received the Artisjus Prize for her outstanding work in the education and cultivation of contemporary music. Under her direction, Fazekas Children's Choir represented the well-deserved high standard of Hungarian choral culture in Krakow, Ohrid and Rimini.

In 2011, Fazekas Children's Choir was awarded the Múzsa Award, the cultural recognition of the city of Miskolc, for its consistently outstanding professional work in the previous decades.

After a difficult period of the pandemic, this is the first time that the reorganised Fazekas Children's Choir will perform at an international event.
