InterUrban: Hamamatsu - Shingo Wakagi photo exhibition (JP)
The images on display offer a deeply personal insight not only into the life of the photographer-director's grandfather, but also into the special and nuanced relationship between grandfather and grandson.
The images on display are closely linked to Wakagi's film, Waltz in Starlight, and show the setting, circumstances, and characters of the film's making. The themes of the photographs and the film are inextricably linked: moments and fragments from the life of the beloved grandfather Takuji. The photographs recreate the grandfather's life, moments of family intimacy, but equally important is the setting, the city of Hamamatsu and the surrounding nature, where Shingo Wakagi grew up.
