Every May, the largest multidisciplinary arts festival in the City of Queens fills the streets of the castle quarter and the city centre with a colourful cavalcade of free music, art, theatre, literature and family events.

Margaret Island will be celebrating their 10th birthday in 2024, with special events and a new album coming out in April!

With their positive and thought-provoking pop music and explosively energetic performances, the audience quickly took to their hearts the Fonyod-based band Margaret Island. Founded by Viki Lábas, Bálint Füstös and Kristóf Törőcsik, the group is the author of hits such as Eső (which burst onto the scene in 2016), Hóvirág, Veled minden, Nem voltál jó, Házszám and Valahol, .

The band, which has been awarded with the Junior Artisjus professional award, among others, is still popular and a regular at the biggest Hungarian festivals and clubs.

Of their four albums and one live album, 'Hol marad az én történetem', 'Egyszer volt' and 'III' have gone gold - the latter winning a Fonogram Award in 2019. Despite their success, the multi-award-winning group still believes in making music for the sheer joy of it.

From the very beginning, the band has placed great emphasis on communicating its values and innovating, including making its concerts diverse, so that audiences can return home with special memories beyond the musical experience. They have performed in unusual venues such as the Aggtelek stalactite cave, the Kőröshegy and Pannonhalma lavender fields, the Fertőrákos quarry, the Szántód-Tihany ferry and the Szigligeti castle. In 2019 they toured the country's top concert halls with their symphonic tour. The album Hol marad az én történetem, released in 2021, was also certified gold.

In the autumn of 2023, the band delighted its audiences with an exciting all-round artistic production: the band's joint performance with the Szeged Contemporary Ballet, entitled Fénytörés (Lightbreak), debuted at the Müpa National Concert Hall and was performed in 8 cities in the countryside.
