At the age of twelve, Danish Mike Andersen was already captivated by blues, soul and r'n'b. While his contemporaries were listening to Madonna and Duran Duran, he was collecting records by B.B. King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Al Green and Marvin Gaye. Decades later, now with a successful band (Mike Andersen Band) behind him, he suddenly embarked on a solo career, wanting to write songs stripped down to just the vocals, with acoustic guitar accompaniment only.
With a powerful and sensitive voice and an intense guitar style, Mike's first solo album proved successful enough for him to leave his band behind for a while and tour solo. But he does occasionally return to his band.
