Tamás Joós: King Violin and Princess Erica / GyereKert 2023
We look forward to welcoming you to the realm of exuberant fun!
Singer-bard Tamás Joós is no stranger to public cultural institutions, libraries, cultural venues and festivals, having performed for decades in nurseries, schools, community centres and libraries.
The tale " King Violin and Princess Erica " is an interactive play written by daramaturgist Ilona Szász especially for Tamás Joós, whose main goal is to introduce several folk instruments (hurdy gurdy, cither, zither, flute, jaw harp, rattle drum, rainstick) and to have children play them in a story framework.
"Once upon a time, there was a great empire, the land of sound, Pentatonia. What was this country like? It was not in the north, nor in the south, nor in the east, nor in the west, but it was everywhere: on land, in the water and in the air. This realm was full of wonderful sounds, beautiful melodies, magical music..."
As a continuation of the story, the performance tells us what happened to the princess and how she lost and regained her voice from the devil with the children's help.
