VeszprémFest 2022
In 2022, VeszprémFest has an 18-year history. The mission of this premium music event has remained unchanged from the very beginning: making it a world-class small-town celebration of music, a home – even if only for a day or two – for stars who usually appear at the top concert venues in Europe and around the world.
VeszprémFest does not commit itself to any musical genre. It aims for the highest international standards and quality. It brings the best of the best in opera, jazz, classical, pop, or world music to Veszprém year after year. It attracts fans of these genres from the city and its environs, region, country, and even neighbouring countries.
A sampling of names of premium performers of recent years: Caro Emerald, UB40, Ziggy Marley, Joss Stone, Aloe Blacc, Lisa Stansfield, Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum, Emeli Sandé, Roger Hodgson, Kool & the Gang, Katie Melua, Vaya Con Dios, Diana Krall, José Cura, Nigel Kennedy, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucia, Zoltán Kocsis, Richard Bona, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Joe Zawinul, Jan Garbarek, Andrea Rost, Erika Miklósa, Ramon Vargas, The Gypsy Kings, Candy Dulfer, Gilberto Gil, George Benson, the Buena Vista Social Club with Omara Portuondo, Craig David. In 2022, stars such as Diana Krall, Jamie Cullum, Ana Moura, The Gipsy Kings led by Nicolas Reyes, ZAZ and James Blunt will take to the stage of VeszprémFest.
VeszprémFest welcomes visitors at three locations: in addition to the stage in the History Garden, concerts will be held in the Veszprém Arena, which also serves as the permanent rain venue of the festival. In addition, the audience will be entertained by great musical productions in the Jesuit Church Garden
The free accompanying event of the festival is the Rosé, Riesling, and Jazz Days, which takes place in its traditional venue, the Old Town Square. The gastro-cultural event, which began in 2011, will welcome visitors under the slogan "10 days, 30 winemakers, 30 concerts".
