Balaton Salon 2023

Organised by the Balaton Association in cooperation with the Veszprém Petőfi Theatre and art organisation professionals, the Balaton Salon contemporary art show was revived in 2022, to be continued in 2023 by an expanded exhibition, which will also include the works of foreign artists.

Balaton Salon is probably the only initiative that specifically brings all the creative community of the Balaton region together and allows its members the opportunity to showcase their work. Opening in Balatonalmádi in May, the exhibition is unique in that it will present works by contemporary artists alongside those of well-known, emblematic Balaton artists who are no longer with us. As a novelty, we will simultaneously present works by representatives of different artistic disciplines (painters, graphic artists, sculptors, folk artists), and we plan to include representatives of Balaton literature.

The artists will not only have the opportunity to exhibit; we also plan to introduce them to local leaders and decision-makers so that the latter will be familiar with artists when they may want to commission public artworks in the future. Their meeting will increase the visibility and the number of visitors to learn of artists who live and work around the lake.
