The programme series implemented within the framework of the “Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture” programme (hereinafter referred to as the “ECoC Programme”) aims to expand the scale, diversity, and European dimension of cultural offerings. This is pursued through enhanced cooperation between countries, broader access to and participation in culture, increased performance of the cultural sector and its connections to other sectors, as well as the strengthening of the city’s international image through culture.

Within the framework of the ECoC Programme, research is being conducted to explore the current state of the local society and economy, and to monitor the changes induced by the interventions of the programme series. This includes interdisciplinary social science research and surveys, primarily in the fields of urban and rural development, as well as cultural tourism. VEB2023 Jsc. ensures the usability and further research potential of the findings, and takes responsibility for the dissemination of the results.
