From Austria to England - From Baroque to Jazz: a Concert Series by Young Veszprém Natives Who Tour the World.

We are proud that Veszprém has groomed generations of successful musicians who have gained international experience and recognition as soloists, members of prestigious Hungarian and European orchestras, or teachers and who now showing their skills in performances all over Europe. These young musicians have moved from Veszprém to Austria, Switzerland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Estonia. Their artistic career has been marked by institutions and orchestras such as the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, the Royal Conservatory of Scotland, the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz, the Kunstuniversität Graz, the Escuola Superior de Musica de Catalonia, the Hochschule für Musik Luzern, the MDW Wien, the Statna Filharmonia Kosice and the Estonian Festival Orchestra.

The idea has been germinating for long time. It was the winning the European Capital of Culture title that has given it the final push: the city should invite these established musicians who had started from Veszprém back for a set of concerts in 2023.

Every day for three days, we will have the opportunity to listen to the music of several nations, related in history, language, and culture, not only through the interpretation of the Veszprém-born performers but also their internationally renowned foreign musician friends. The repertoire ranges from classical Italian, Spanish, Slovenian, Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian, Austrian, German, Russian, and Ukrainian works from Spanish flamenco guitar music to Balkan folk music, klezmer, and jazz.
