Gyula Porga

Gyula Porga is Mayor of Veszprém. He is Chair of the Network of Historic Towns and Settlements and of the Cultural Subcommittee of the Association of Municipal Cities and received the Mayor of the Year Award in 2012. Born in Enying in 1968, he trained as a cultural organiser after his secondary school studies, and was first in charge of cultural affairs in the municipality of Balatonkenese and later at Veszprém County Self-Government. For decades he has lived in Veszprém with his wife and three children.
