Music Hungary Conference and Showcase  

Members of the Music Hungary Association gather for discussions, to enrich its members through knowledge transfer and a professional attitude, and - not to forget - represent the professional interests towards government decision-makers. The Association not only advocates the interests of the Hungarian music industry and not only conveys these interests to stakeholders through its various sections, but it is also actively involved in creating and managing public initiatives such as music export, talent management and strengthening the audience base. The Music Hungary Conference is the culmination of the Association’s year-long efforts. The conference is focused on the relationship between music and people, and accordingly, it explores the latest trends and phenomena, the challenges and opportunities in music and the music industry from all angles, from the private sphere to technological changes and trends and new frontiers. 

In past years, we have hosted several honoured representatives from both the national and international music sectors, including Claire O'Neill, founder of A Greener Festival, Ave Tölpt of Music Estonia, and Neús Lopez from the Initiative Musik. In addition to prominent and well-known musicians from the national scene, experts from other fields will also speak at the conference on topics such as sustainability, urban development, and mental health.  In the latter area, an important stopgap initiative, Music Mental, has grown out of a 2021 panel, providing mental health support for musicians and music professionals. 

The professional programmes during the day are complemented by a popular music showcase in the evenings, in the nightclubs of downtown Veszprém, where a selection of emerging music acts from all over the Carpathian Basin are performed.
