Soul-to-Soul Theatre Festival
A Festival of the Theatre’s Healing Power.
Unique in the country, the festival’s primary aim is to raise awareness and help people experience, understand and accept the daily struggle of those with physical, mental or emotional disabilities.
The average person is growing less and less conscious of the negative issues these people face. The festival, therefore, focuses on situations that are often silenced or repressed, discussing them with the audience in sessions moderated by a psychologist.
Our festival is based on performing stories based on reality the audience can easily identify with. The opening of the exhibition will include the creative work of a challenged artist demonstrating the works created in art therapy. The festival will also feature a powerful interdisciplinary presence of light music and dance. In a complementary children's programme, there will be a strong focus on children and young adults and their issues.
Naturally, the theatre will also play a featured role. We will invite thematically selected performances from Budapest-based and rural theatres dealing with social, health and other problems affecting everyone's life. Discussions, led by professionals, will follow the plays to release the tension and analyse the issues to help understand the challenges involved.
