For over 30 years, the Valley of Arts has been one of the most delightful and diverse festivals in the Lake Balaton region.

Everyone, young and old, is welcome to visit in the summer. The festival, connecting three small villages, Taliándörögd, Kapolcs and Vigántpetend, lasts ten days every year and fills the streets of the three villages with thousands of events, from dance performances to circus shows, from jazz, classical and electronic music concerts to exhibitions, cinema nights and folk crafts.

With an inimitable atmosphere, the event connects literature to music, theatre to the circus, while talks and workshops offer connections to other Valley visitors, actors, musicians – and ourselves. In the three villages’ courtyards and smaller themed venues, one will not only find arts but self-improvement opportunities, from movement therapy to a refreshing massage or even immersion in the healing energies of herbs. Whether you're looking to party or just want to get away from it all for a while, lie in the grass and experience the magical atmosphere of the Valley. The festival offers a wealth of opportunities at every turn.

Greening of the Arts

Did you know that the Valley of Arts was born from a conservation project three decades ago? The organisers have ever since been committed to making the festival sustainable. Every year they devote a lot of attention to protecting the environment and ensuring that the people who come to the Valley feel the importance of compliance. The Snail Bus, which helps public transport, mitigates unnecessary CO2 emission, the selective waste collection system allows a large amount of rubbish that accumulates at the event venues to be recycled – some of it is purposely degradable material. The educational programmes help us follow the green path in our everyday lives.
