Holtszezon (Off - Season) Contemporary Literary Festival
Off-Season is a literary-focussed but essentially multidisciplinary art festival which embraces genres that, although loved by many, are rarely seen at cultural events.
The programme developed jointly with the university students of Veszprém is primarily based around the genres of fantasy, crime fiction, science fiction, song lyrics, youth literature and comics, but the four-day event also discusses the literary connections of series culture or ecology.
On the last weekend of February, well-known Hungarian and international writers will come to the clubs and cafés of Veszprém city centre, but during Off-Season the main focus will be on emerging, young writers, poets, musicians and visual artists, as well as on creative activities. Among our events, those interested will be able to choose from a number of workshops - creative writing, song lyrics, hip-hop, graffiti, comics and crime fiction.
Off-Season will therefore come back in February 2023 with fresh, exciting and inspiring cultural events and programmes that promote creativity and thinking together. Because we believe that reading is cool, but so is writing, playing music and any type of creative activity. This is what Off-Season is all about.
