The life-blood of the nation, according to many, coffee plays a central role in the everyday life of Finns, who allegedly drink the most of it per capita.
It is offered at social events, schedules the workday with welcome breaks, warms up the body and soul on long winter days, and can even be connected to women’s liberation. Seija Ulkuniemi has photographed women while enjoying their brews and captured personal stories related to the all-important drink.
