Every May, the largest multidisciplinary arts festival in the City of Queens fills the streets of the castle quarter and the city centre with a colourful cavalcade of free music, art, theatre, literature and family events.

The farewell concert of LGT in 1992 left a big void among LGT fans, so in 1993 5 musicians from Veszprém were the first in the country to decide to create an ensemble, the LGT Memorial Orchestra, to carry on the musical legacy of LGT. The band, which was soon to be joined by a brass section, has always strived throughout its thirty-year existence to play the most popular LGT songs in an authentic sound and in a way that preserves the atmosphere of rock concerts, but at the same time in a way that is familiar and accessible to the audience.

The band quickly became popular in the country, besides Budapest, they performed in almost all major cities and countless smaller towns (from Sopron to Berettyóújfalu, from Zalaegerszeg to Tokaj), and were invited to the biggest festivals in the country (Sziget Festival, VOLT, Utcazene Festival, SZIN, Művészetek Völgye, Fesztiválkatlan). Among these, perhaps the most notable were Stargarden, where Deep Purple performed in parallel with the band's concert, and the Lokomotiv GT Shipyard Island Festival in 2001, where the band was invited by Tamás Somló to perform.

In 2007, the LGT Memorial Band won first place in the MRA "I. Tribute Band Talent Competition and Festival". Two members of the original LGT, Tamás Somló from the beginning and later János Karácsony have performed with the band on several occasions (most recently in August 2021 at the Szentendre Night and Day Festival).

In addition to their performances in Hungary, the LGT Memorial Band has also recalled the music of LGT in the Vojvodina and Vojvodina region, and on several occasions in Transylvania (Peninsula Festival, Târgu Mures, Oradea, Sfântu Gheorghe, Chișterres, Brasov).

An interesting musical excursion for the orchestra was when in 2009 the Pannon Várszínház presented a piece based on LGT songs entitled "Miénk ez a cirkusz", followed by the success of the piece in 2011 with the Omega-based "Égi vándor".

The band always puts great emphasis on the quality of its sound, so we work with a permanent sound engineer and a quality sound system (microphones, mixing console, control).
