SALVATORE GATTO: PULCINELLA

This show is an ancient „canvas” that travels from the 16th century. Pulcinella is the protagonist of this story. Together with the other characters he stells stories of everyday life. There is one stable set up in the different stories, which is the constant struggle between Pulcinella and the other characters, such as Pasquale Finizio „Earthquake” or the Dog or Death. At the end good always triumphs over bad, the truth comes to light and life wins over death.

If Pulcinella, in symbolic key, represents the mean, the antagonists represent his needs and his fears. It is really when it defeats them that those same fears and that negative instincts that live in him (and therefore in the public) are recognized and exorcized. As the old songs or magic dances of exorcism, that re-established entirely the harmony.
