From the very beginning, our programme has been aimed at strengthening interconnections and the culture of coexistence: building bridges between the city and the region, between people who live and work here and their friends far away, between the most diverse social groups, traditions, and cultural environments. Our programmes aim at learning more about each other, strengthening our fragile understanding of others, and experiencing the wonder of discovery. We want to live in a community where we can find the appropriate words and go beyond them, even when, at times, we come across sensitive and difficult issues.
We believe that it is through personal experience that we can best recognise the value of a small community as it attempts to preserve its practices and traditionswithin a majority culture. It is more than merecoexistence;it isa real connection - we can change our worldview by imbuing ideas in each other and enhancingour values.
